This policy explains what personal data I collect when you use kevinvh.xyz or send a project enquiry, why I collect it, who processes it and how long I keep it.
Last updated: 23 October 2026Kevin Van Haesendonck, freelance web designer and developer, is responsible for the processing described here. You can contact me at kevinekke@gmail.com.
When you submit the contact form I receive your name, email address, company name (if provided), current website (if provided), budget range (if provided), project description and your consent choices. I also record the language and page you submitted from, and the time of submission.
The hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs, which may include your IP address, for security and abuse prevention.
I use your details to reply to your enquiry, prepare a proposal and, if we work together, to manage the project. If you tick the marketing consent box, I also use your email address to send occasional emails about website projects and articles. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
For an enquiry or a project, the legal basis is the performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). For marketing emails, the legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). For security logs and keeping basic records, I rely on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).
I use Vercel for hosting, Resend for delivering the enquiry notification, and Doppler Email Marketing for the optional newsletter list. These providers process data on my behalf under their data processing terms. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area using appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
I do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. If you prefer not to use the form, you can email or message me directly.
Enquiries are kept for up to 24 months after the last contact so I can follow up and keep a record of the conversation. Newsletter subscribers stay on the Doppler list until they unsubscribe. Security logs are kept only as long as the hosting provider needs them.
You can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email kevinekke@gmail.com.
If you believe your data is not handled correctly, you can complain to your local data protection authority. In Belgium this is the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données.
This site uses a language cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) to remember your language choice for one year. It also uses Vercel Analytics to understand aggregate traffic; this is not used for advertising. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set.
If this policy changes, I will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting how I use your data will be communicated where appropriate.
